About Me

What do you get when you take 15 years of experience as an Art Director, followed by 10 years of experience as a Health and Nutrition coach, mixed with a lot of self-reflection, life experience and several months in lockdown during a global pandemic? Watercolors.

I got back into painting when the pandemic hit in March 2020 after being on a painting break that lasted too long. Doubt, fear, creative blocks, and old voices got in the way, but finally I had enough. I dusted off my studio table, bought a portable watercolor set, a few ink pens, some paper, and
got back into the fun of painting.

My illustrations are about little things that bring BIG joy.

Everything I love comes together in my work…from health and nutrition, to fashion, dogs, the beach, cooking, motherhood, family life, travel and the simple pleasures that keep everyone sane.

What makes me an artist:

  • I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a BFA in Illustration.

  • I lived and worked as an Art Director for nearly two decades in San Francisco and New York City on brands like American Express, Pottery Barn, Sony and Charles Schwab.

  • I got my certification in holistic health coaching at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC.
Cooking and taking care of yourself is an art.

  • I dressed like Madonna when I was in high school.

  • I eat the colors of the rainbow. Fun fact: I’ve been gluten-free, sugar-free and mostly plant-based for 20 years, and no, I don’t miss bread or pasta. (It’s a long story and I’m happy to share if interested).

  • I love the ocean and grew up going to my family’s house on Cape Cod every summer. I used to watercolor on my Dad’s boat.

  • Another fun fact: I’ve been alcohol-free for 25+ years (It’s another long story that I’m happy to share if interested). I wouldn’t have it any other way. Painting (or anything) hungover is no fun.

  • I have two black shih-tzus that are brother and sister and keep me company in my studio.

  • My 10 year old daughter, Eden, is my biggest joy and teacher in life. She’s also an artist.

  • My husband, Jim, is from Worcester, Massachusetts and I’m from Hingham, Massachusetts. We met in NYC and live in CT. He’s my greatest support. He’s VERY left-brained and I’m VERY right-brained. After 14 years, it’s still working (most days).
